Bollywood couple Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have purchased a home in Dubai , UAE. The couple have purchased villa in the double gated community called Sanctuary Falls and recently also attented a resident party held at the Jumeirah Golf Estates.
Unforgettable World Tour The Bachchan's 'Unforgettable' World Tour

The Bachchan's are in preparation for their world tour called Unforgettable Tour, . The tour is set to being on July 18, 2008 in Toronto followed by performances at Trinidad, Tobago, Houston, Atlantic City, New York, Vancouver, and London. Currently Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Amitabh Bachchan are rehearsing the performances at a hall in Juhu, Mumbai . Aishwarya will be performaing the hit 'Dola re..' number from Devdas (2002) with Madhuri Dixit, . The Bachchan family trio will also be performing the famous song 'Kajra re' from the hit movie Bunty Aur Babli (2005) . Others joining the tour include Bollywood actors Preity Zinta, , Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh , choreographer Shiamak Davar and music duo of Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani .
Salman Khan Salman Khan To Host TV Show Dus Ka Dum

Salman Khan has gotten on the TV show band wagon. First it was Amitabh Bachchan , Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) , Akshay Kumar and now Salman Khan . Salman has been signed to host a Sony Entertainment Television game show called Dus Ka Dum which is inspired by the US game show Power of 10 which will begins on June 6, 2008.

Sonal Chauhan has had a good start to her Bollywood debut. Her first movie Jannat (2008) was relased on May 17, 2008 which also happended to be her birthday. The movie has done well at the box office within India as well as overseas. The movie is maintaining it's tickets sales even with the flurry of IPL matches going on in India. The movie also stars Emran Hashmi and is directed by Kunal Deshmukh. Given the success the film has brought the producers, Mukesh Bhatt, they have signed Sonal for Raaz 2 (2008) the sequel to Raaz (2002).
Sonal was also recently in the news because of some confrontation she had with her long time companion Sahil Zaroo, an accused in the Rahul Mahajan drug case, at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. The incident happended at the Jet Airways counter as Sonal was collecting her boarding pass for a flight to Hyderabad. This is when Sahil Zaroo, who was also booked on the same flight, appeared and seemed liked a minor altercation has started between the two, which ended with Zaroo slapping Chouhan and then throwing Sonal's mobile phone on the floor, then running from the scene. CISF officials posted at the airport caught hold of him immediately.

Bollywood has taken big steps to enter the Hollywood film market. Anil Ambani , an Indian business man, has announced a investment of $1 billion into Hollywood with a series of deals with top stars like George Clooney, Nicholas Cage, Tom Hanks and Brad Pitt. During the recent Cannes Film Festival news emerged that Reliance Big, the entertainment arm of the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group, has invested over a $1 billion into Hollywood. Some of the partners include Mr Cage's Saturn Productions, Mr Clooney's Smokehouse Productions, Mr Hanks' Playtone Productions, and more.
India is the largest maker of files in the world, with over 3.7 billion tickets sold every year and more then 1000 films being released each year.

Bollywood made it's presences felt at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival being held in Cannes, France. Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was present with the her new family including husband Abhishek Bachchan, father in law Amitabh Bachchan and mother in law Jaya Bachchan. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was at the Cannes as part of her role as a model for L'Oreal and was pictured with Hollywood stars Eva Longoria Parker . Also present was Angelina Jolie with husband Brad Pitt. Earlier in the day Angelina was seen at the premiere of her new animated film Kung Fu Panda along with costars Dustin Hoffman and Jack Black.

Smriti Irani , the original Tulsi, of the famous Hindi TV show, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi will be returning to the show after an absense of about nine months. Now the show writers have to write the story to bring her back. When Smriti previosly left, she was replaced with Gautami Gadgil and now Gautami has to be written out of the story and replaced back with Smriti. Ekta Kapoor will have to come up with something. This will also be the first time Ekta Kapoor has taken back a star who had left her serial midway.

The Maharashtra Government today approved plans to build a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj some one kilometer into the Arabian Sea with the height of 300 feet. The statue will be off the coast of Mumbai , and will about 30 storey high and almost two kilometers into the sea, and the statue will be taller then the Statue of Liberty in New York, USA.

Indian tourist city Jaipur, India was rocked today by Seven synchronised blasts that killed at least 60 people and injuring nearly 100 others, but that will probably rise with time and investigation. The multiple blast went off in a choreographed manner within about 20 minutes. The locations that are initially identified are Tripolia Bazar, Badi Choupal, Chhoti Choupal, Manas Chowk, Johari Bazar and Sanganeri Gate.

21 Indian firms made in the list of top 100 BPO firms in the world per a new study lead by International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) managing director of Thought Leadership, Jagdish Dalal. The list included five firms in the top 10 best outsourcing service providers, (No.3), TCS (6), Wipro (7), Genpact (9) and Tech Mahindra (10). Today, India successfully test fired a surface to surface nuclear capable Agni-III missile with a range of 3000 km range. The missile was launced from Wheelers Island off Orissa coast and it achieved its full range and accuracy by reaching its pre designated target in 800 seconds. India now joins a select group of nations having intermediate range ballistic missiles (IRBMs) with ranges upto 3000 kms.

Gisele last year finished her contract with Victoria's Secret but still has many other modeling jobs that she is juggling. Miley Cyrus has come out and apologized for her partially clothed photos in Vanity Fair. Miley is the 15 year old star of Disney's billion dollar Hannah Montana franchise and star of Disney Channel show Hannah Montana. Miley has been pictured apparently topless, with a satin bedsheet protecting her modesty. Miley initially liked the shots as artist but now has reversed her eariler opnions about the shot after the public lash back. Mothers now do not want their daughter to follow and look up to her as a role model.

On Monday 19 May 2008, Nintendo Co Ltd launched it's long awaited "Wii Fit" exercise game within the United States. The new game hopes to get the couch potatoes and women to join in on the gaming fun. The Wii gaming console has already become a great hit with kids and man. The new game will cost $90 and comes with balance board that will senses shifts in posture. The Wii Fit will offer over 40 activities in four categories including aerobics, strength training, balance and yoga. It will also track users Body Mass Index and weight and provide nice charts of their progress and provide fitness tips. While Microsoft and Sony have put their focus on high definition, ultra realistic games, Nintendo instead choose the other route of trageting more interactive games, which has been an great nice surprise by the industry and consumer.

Last week a project was started in Abu Dhabi on building a city that is suppose to create zero emissions. The city will house 50,000 people and 1,500 businesses with a goal of using extremely little energy. The city is expected to cost around $22 billion, of which $4 billion will be provide by the Abu Dhabi government for the infrastructure. Electric transports will provide door to door service using battery powered vehicles with renewable energy and stored onboard in batteries.

IBM has developed a way to make concentrated photovoltaic cells that are more efficient in converting the sun's energy into electricity. The technology is based on the on technology used to cool computer chips. The main principle behind the technology is to use a large lens to focus light onto a relatively small piece of photovoltaic semiconductor material and thus using only fraction of the semiconductor material. The solution involves placing an ultrathin layer of liquid metal, a compound of gallium and indium, between the two surfaces.

Yahoo introduces a new way to look at search results, the concept is called Glue. The product is in Beta stage and is a Yahoo product that is developed at the Yahoo India development center and is currently available in India. The search for a given term will display the traditional search results, and now will add search from the Image, Video, Yahoo Answers, and other resources within the same page for more information for the user.

Google annouced the launch of a way to transalte websites to Hindi using its popular Google translate application. This shows the importance and the expansion of the India online market. Other innovations targeted to the Indian market include Google Local Search and Google Local Business Centre.

Vodafone announced that it has been selected to provide the Apple's iPhone in ten new countries. The list of the countries are Australia, the Czech Republic, Egypt, Greece, Italy, India, Portugal, New Zealand, South Africa and Turkey. Vodafone will start to sell the Apple iPhone as early as later this year.

World under rice shortage? The price for rice seems to be going up daily and now there are countries putting limits on exports and also local stores in the US putting limits on how much can be bought by an individual. As the world population and consumers of rice grows, the supply seems not to be keeping up with the rise in demand. Price of rice have gone up by more then 30 percent in the two years from 2005 to 2007. Of the world rice 80 percent is grown in Asia. Major exporters of rice are India, Pakistan, Thailand, Vietnam, and United States. Rice is being imported by Bangladesh, Brazil, Indonesia, Iraq, Philippines, and the Arab world.

Today marked a big day for the airline industry where much anticipated merger between Delta Air Lines Inc. and Northwest Airlines Corp. was finalized. The deal is around $17.7 billion and would create the world's largest airline. The new airline will have some $35 billion in revenue and more then 75,000 employees, with access to more than 390 destinations in 67 countries. Delta will have their executive offices in Atlanta, Minneapolis and New York, with international executive offices in Amsterdam, Paris and Tokyo.

Sania Mirza Sania Mirza Pulls Out Of French Open

World No 32 Sania Mirza has decided not to take part in the upcoming French Open starting on May 25, 2008 due to her right wrist injury. Sania had undergone surgery in Miami, FL on April 10, and the cast was removed on May 05 and how she is undergoing physical rehabilitation. Sania hopes to be ready by June to take part in the DFS Classic in Birmingham which start June 6, 2008.

The 2008 Summer Olympics will consist of 302 evebts in 28 sports with over 10000 Athletes participating. The 2008 Summer Olympics have been in recent news with nations calling for boycotts due to some people being upset with China's involvement in the crisis in Darfur. Other concern related to environmental and health issues in and around Beijing have been raised due to the concern that it may potentially effect athletes health.

Danica Patrick finally won the big race. Danica is a race car driver and probably was not favoured to win any race in which mostly men are race car drivers. Now she has proved her critics wrong by capturing first place in Sunday’s Indy 300 race in Motegi, Japan. Danica was the first female to hold a lead in the Indianapolis 500 three years ago and has kept herself in the new since then. She is backed by sponsors like Motorola, XM Satellite Radio and Go Daddy.

Washington Wizards won their final game at home this season to solidify their 5th slot in the playoff standings. The Wizards backups players played really well to beat Indiana Pacers 117-110 to eliminate Indiana from playoff race. Wizards Roger Mason scored 31 points to lead the team. Now the Wizards will face Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the playoff. Last year the Wizards were swept by the Cavaliers in the playoffs. The Wizards will finish of the season by playing the final regular game against Orlando .
