	Supermodel Padma Lakshmi Beats Aishwarya Rai and Freida Pinto Date: 01/26/2010: Supermodel Padma Lakshmi, has grabbed the 15th and Lakshmi Menon has moved into the 45th position on the Askmen.com top 99 women poll leaving behind Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at number 50th and Freida Pinto 63rd. The number one stop was taken by Canadian actress Emmanuelle Chriqui while Penelope Cruz took the 7th spot and "Tranformers" star Megan Fox the 11th spot.
	Priyanka Chopra Wins National Film Award Date: 01/25/2010: Priyanka Chopra was awakened in New York in the early morning by a call to notify the 27 year old that she had won the National Film Award for her role of a super model in Madhur Bhandarkar's Fashion (2008) . She has already won the Filmfare best actress award for the same, but the National awards bring even more recognition to her acting. Priyanka is currently in New York shooting for Anjana Anjani (2010) which has her starring opposite Ranbir Kapoor .

After a month or rumors on the new announcement from Apple, today Apple made the big announcement by unveiling the Apple iPad , at an invite only event at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in downtown San Francisco, CA. The new Apple iPad will cost around $499 and comes with a 9.7-inch LCD touch-screen display with 1024x768 resolution which will makes use of the same multitouch technology found on the iPhone, and 1 Ghz custom Apple chip and will come in 16, 32, and 64GB capacities for $499, $599, and $699, respectively for the Wi-Fi version, the 3G wireless modem version will be available from AT&T with a new plan options of $15 a month for 250MB of data, or unlimited for $29.99 a month. The iPad with just Wi-Fi will be shipping in the next 60 days, while the 3G version will be in the market in the next 90 days.

On January 05, 2010, Google announced the avaliability of Nexus One , a smartphone from Google built by Taiwan's HTC Corporation and uses Android open source mobile operating system. Some of the features of the phone include the ability to transcribe voice to text, noise canceling dual microphones, and voice directions while driving. The phone is available locked and unlocked. Locked version from T-Mobile in the United States. The phone is sold on Google's website, at a price of $529 unlocked, or a subsidized verson can be purchased from T-Mobile for $179 when purchased with a two year contract. The Nexus One features a 3.7 in (9.4 cm) active matrix OLED display (480 x 800 px, WVGA) with a 100,000:1 contrast ratio, 1 GHz Qualcomm 8250 processor, 512MB of RAM, a 4GB microSD card, 512MB of internal flash storage, a 5.0 megapixel auto focus camera with LED flash and digital zoom, GPS receiver, light and proximity sensors, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, and 802.11b/g/n Wifi capabilities.

The high priced golden culinary herb saffron, made from crocus flowers, and used in cooking, may hold one of the keys to preventing the loss of sight in old age and could even help improve vision in people suffering from certain blinding eye diseases. A team found that saffron slows the loss of sight becuase the herb has remarkable effects on the genes which actually regulate the performance of the eye's key vision cells.

The Washington Redskins season ended on Sunday night after a 4th quater loss to the San Diego Chargers 23 to 20 in a season filled with injuries and last minute losses. On Monday morning, new General Manager Bruce Allen fired Jim Zorn after a 4-12 season. Zorn was coach of the Redskins for the last two years with a great start his first season, but the 2nd half of 2008 season and all of 2009 season the team struggled to win games. He was hired by owner Dan Snyder back in January 2008 as a offensive coordinator but later was named the team's head coach.
Now the team has hired former Denver Broncos head coach Mike Shanahan as the 28th head coach of the Washington Redskins. Mike will be seventh head coach hired by Snyder since he bought the team in 1999.

This week the NFL 2009 Football season started with the Pittsburgh Steelers taking on the Tennessee Titans on Thursday, Sep 10. The Steelers won the game in overtime, 13 to 10. Then on Sunday, Sep 13 it was the start for the rest, with two games on Monday, Sep 14 between Buffalo Bills vs New England Patriots at 7:00 PM EST, followed at 10:15 PM EST with game between San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders.
