Amitabh Bachchan to sing a song in RGV’s Nishabd (2006) . His has also lent his singing voice to his next release Babul, Baabul (2006) . The song for Nishabd will be composed by Vishal Bhardwaj and lyrics written are composed by Munna Dhimani.

As Amitabh Bachchan celebrated his birthday on october 11, the French government announced it would honour Amitabh with the 'Officer of the Legion of Honour' – the country’s highest civilian award. He would be receving the award for his contribution to Indian and international cultural cinema. Previously Amitabh Bachchan had his voice in the French film March of the Penguins directed by Luc Jacquet.

Amitabh Bachchan has just finished shooting for Ram Gopal Varma's Nishabd with Revathy, Rukhsar, Jiah Khan and Aftab Shivdasani. The film is scheduled for a September release. Amitabh Bachchan will also be starring in Balakrishnan's Chini Kum opposite Tabu . The movie has Amitabh Bachchan flirting with a much younger Tabu . The movie will be shot in London, Delhi and Mumbai.

RGV announced Nishabd , staring Amitabh Bachchan and the story is about a 54-year old married man who falls in love with a girl, 36 years younger. The film is scheduled to start production May 1, 2006. The film is based on Vladimir Nakobov’s timeless novel Lolita.

Amitabh Bachchan has begun to shot for this movies after his surgery. He is currently shooting for Karan Johar's Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (Never Say Goodbye). This is the first time the actor has entered the studio since his stomach surgery in Dec 17, 2005. Also in the news is that Sony has acquired the music rights of Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna being directed by Karan Johar and stars Amitabh Bachchan , Shahrukh Khan , Rani Mukherjee , Preity Zinta , Abhishek Bachchan and Arjun Rampal .
