Priyanka Chopra Is eBay Style Diva Of 2006

Priyanka Chopra, former Miss World, has been officially been chosen as the Style Diva of 2006 by an online poll conducted through June and July. She was presented by Ebay India the eBay Style Diva trophy. At the award presentation Priyanka announced an charity auction that will be featured on Ebay between August 10th and 19th in which the proceeds will be donated to Nanhi Kali foundation, provides education of the girl child.

Kareena and Aamir Together For The Firsttime

Kareena Kapoor and Aamir Khan have been signed by Mani Ratnam for his next movie, Lajjo . This will mark the first time that Kareena and Aamir have acted together. The film will began shooting in January 2007 and release later in the year. The film is an adaptation of Ismat Chugtai’s book with the same title. Kareena has previously worked with Mani Ratnam in Yuva and is currently shooting for him in Guru .

India News:

26,000 families evacuated from Maharashtra as heavy rains disrupted normal life in 15 districts of Maharashtra. The families were evacuated from Nanded, Yavatmal, Buldhana and Jalgaon districts while Marathwada and Vidarbha regions were the hardest hit by the rains. Yavatmal is the worst affected area so far. The state has called upon the navy, army and air force to help resuce people. Two teams of the air force have reached the area from Bangalore. The Godavari river has started flowing three metres above the danger mark. In a matter of 12 hours, the city recorded 167.4 mm of rain in Santa Cruz and 130.2 mm in Colaba where the suburbs have have received more rain then the city.

Dubai, United Arab Emirates: The first of Dubai's three palm-shaped islands is finally about to get its first residents. The Palm Jumeirah is a 12-square-mile island group which is known as the largest land-reclamation project in the world. It took about five years of hauling of millions of tons of Persian Gulf sand and quarried rock to build. It is scheduled to be fully completed in 2010 and will be home to about 60,000 residents and at least 50,000 workers in 32 hotels and dozens of shops and attractions. The project is costed at $14 billion and sets to rival Singapore and Hong Kong as a business hub.
