|  | Jiah Khan Going To Acting School?

It well known that Bollywood star Kangna Ranaut and Jiah Khan are not the best of friends. During a recent interview with Kangana Ranaut, she was asked if she missed out working with Aamir Khan , and to that she replied with sometimes like its destiny but at least I wasn't sent to acting classes by Aamir. This in reference to recent news that Aamir Khan has asked Jiah to attend acting classes before her shooting for the film, Ghajini (2008) , began. Kangana Ranaut was the first choice for Aamir to play the role opposite him in Ghajini, but Kangana leaked out the news before the formal announcement was made, which annoyed Aamir and she was out of the film and replaced with Jiah Khan. The film will also have Asin Thottumkal and Jiah, plays a medical student, playing opposite Aamir. Asin had also acted in the same part in the original Tamil version of the movie. |  | Rajiv Gandhi Award For Saif Ali Khan And Lara Dutta

Saif Ali Khan (Best Actor) and fellow Bollywood stars Lara Dutta (Best Actress) and Darsheel Safary (Child Prodigy) were given awards at the Annual Rajiv Gandhi Awards 2008 for their contribution to Indian cinema, at a function held at N.C.P.A. ( Mumbai ) on Aug 17, 2008. The function also included some great performance by such Bollywood stars as Salman Khan , Kareena Kapoor , Rakhi Sawant and music composers Shankar Ehsaan Loy. |

Reliance Big TV launches Direct to Home (DTH) service which should provide high picture quality. The service will be available in 6,500 towns and will initially broadcast over 200 channels with digital quality picture and sound. Now Reliance will provide competition to already existing service providers like Tata Sky, Dish TV, Sun Direct and DD Direct.

Sport News: |  | Sania Mirza Retires Pulls Out Of US Open
08/22/2008:
Sania Mirza has pulled out of the U.S. Open on because of a right wrist injury that flared at the Olympic Games. Sania had surgery on the right wrist back in April 2008 in Miami, Florida. This will leave India unrepresented in the singles events at the U.S. Open because Prakash Amritraj and Sunitha Rao both failed to qualify for the main draw of men's and women's events. The U.S. Open is scheduled to being Monday, August 25, 2008 in Flushing, New York, USA. |

After lossing the first ODI match, India fought back to even the ODI series to 1 to 1. India won the Toss and chose to field first and bowled Sri Lanka in 38.3 overs for total of 142 thanks to the bowling of Zaheer Khan and P Kumar's bowling. But the small total seemed to be too much for India's batting as India was to 75 for 5 until debutant Subramaniam Badrinath and Zaheer Khan battled the Sri Lanken's bowler to provide a win for India.

Akhil Kumar's Olympic boxing medal dream came to an end on Monday after lossing to Moldovan Gojan Veaceslav 3-10 in his 54kg quarterfinal match. Now its up to Jitender Kumar (51kg) and Vijender Kumar (75kg) who will be fighting in their quarterfinal matches on Wednesday. All three boxers come from Bhiwani, a Haryana town which is supports by London-based steel magnate Lakshmi Narayan Mittal .
